Located on the second and third floors of the 1898 Congregational House Building at 14 Beacon Street in Boston, the Congregational Library & Archives is an unparalleled source of information about the religious activities of the early colonists. The Library and Archives house approximately 225,000 items, both archival and published. The rare book section includes a complete representation of English and first-generation Puritan works, including many one-of-a-kind original documents. In partnership with the Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale University, the Congregational Library and Archives preserves and makes these documents available to the public.

The renovation includes upgrades to the mechanical systems and fire protection, new offices and conference rooms, renovated and expanded archives and digital projects space, updated visitor amenities, dedicated researcher study space, a new entry and visitor reception area, and a new public exhibition and education gallery.
