City of Chelsea - Chelsea, Massachusetts

The city of Chelsea has suffered devastating fires and industrial decline, and this new courthouse was designed to reinforce the remaining fabric of the urban center. The entrance, visible from one end of an elongated open space, is contained inside a massive cylindrical tower; inside the building, running the length of its south façade, is a grand lobby and the main courtroom. Four smaller courtrooms are on the upper floors.
